About Us

Sumat Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited was registered on 29^th October 1998, certificate No. CS/8611 to facilitate acquisition of land and properties to its members. The society has in time expanded its products to include savings and loan facilities. The memberships of the society are drawn from Egerton, Laikipia, Maasai Mara, Kabarak and Kabianga Universities as well as direct membership from within Nakuru Town.

To improve the economic and social wellbeing of the members through investment opportunities, credit and welfare facilities.

Objectives of the Society

The Society aims at buying land for members and for commercial, providing the financial services including welfare services in an efficient manner and making an attractive return for members. Specifically, the objects for which the Society was established are: -

Buying land distributing the members, i.e. enabling members to acquire property through check off system;

To enable members to save and acquire loans; and

To provide welfare services to the members in times of need as prescribed by the welfare policy of the Society.
